With international tournaments beginning in just a few weeks, it's only a matter of time until teams start to fight for playoff positions. But who will make it out of the relegation zone? FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona are undoubtedly one of the most iconic and well-known soccer teams in the world. With a history dating back over 135 years, they have accumulated countless cups, league titles and other prestigious trophies. However, their performance this season could see them relegated to the lower leagues.

Despite currently being in second place in La Liga, Barcelona are facing a strong challenge from Real Madrid. If they lose both their matches against Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid then they will be relegated to division two. This would be a massive blow to their reputation as one of the best teams in Europe and could see them miss out on major competitions such as the Champions League.

Another team facing relegation this season is Valencia. They currently occupy fourth place in La Liga but if they lose both of their matches against Sevilla then they will be relegated to division three. This would be a huge disappointment for Antonio Fernández’s side who had high hopes after spending big during the summer transfer window.

Arsenal also look set to suffer relegation this season. They currently occupy fifth place in the Premier League but with only six points separating them from sixth-placed Chelsea they are under serious pressure. A loss at home to Manchester City on Sunday could see Arsenal fall down into sixth place and qualify for the Europa League which would be a huge blow for Arsène Wenger’s side.

Atlético Madrid, commonly known as Atlético or Atleti, is a professional football club based in the city of Madrid, in the autonomous community of Castile and León. Founded on 2 November 1903, Atlético Madrid play their home games at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium. The team is owned by the Abengoa Group and its head coach is Diego Simeone. Atlético are one of only two clubs never to have been relegated from La Liga (the other being Barcelona).

The 2017–18 season was a difficult one for Atlético Madrid. They finished third in La Liga behind Barcelona and Real Madrid but were eliminated in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey by Barcelona. This loss led to widespread reports that Atletico were facing a possible relegation from La Liga. On 21 May 2018, however, Atlético defeated rivals Real Madrid 4–1 in their final game of the season to avoid relegation.

Atlético Madrid have competed in La Liga since its establishment in 1928. They have won the championship on five occasions (1928/29, 1932/33, 1935/36, 1959/60, 2004/05), as well as the Copa del Rey twice (1955/56 and 1997). In Europe they have also won two UEFA Cup Winners' Cups (1984 and 1986) and two UEFA Super Cups (1981 and 2018).

AC Milan

AC Milan could be relegated to Serie B this season if they fail to win their final fixture against Parma.

FC Rostov, who are currently in the Russian Premier League, are one of the clubs that could relegate AC Milan with them. FC Rostov have only won one of their last eight matches and are four points behind league leaders CSKA Moscow.

Parma could also relegate AC Milan as they currently sit bottom of Serie A with 34 points from 32 matches. The Rossoneri have only won two of their last 11 matches and are six points behind Napoli who are in first place.

A relegation for AC Milan would mean the Rossoneri would return to Serie B for the first time since 1988.
